Former Blink-182 members Mark Hoppus and Travis
Barker, who recently split with his wife, have combined for
the band Plus 44 (+44). The album is titled When Your Heart
Stops Beating, and it will be out November 14. The outfit
reunites two out of three Blink members, with Tom Delonge
concentrating on his Angels And Airwaves project.
Barker had played in Delonge's sideband Boxcar Racer
before re-teaming with Hoppus for Plus 44. Hoppus talked
about the relationship he shares with the talented Barker.
"Oh, it's great. Yeah. Travis and I since Day 1 have always
worked great together. He's introduced me to so many different
ideas in music that I wouldn't have gotten introduced to before.
Travis has the most schizophrenic tastes in music than anyone I
have ever met. He'll come one day and say, 'You've got to check
out this rock band,' and it'll be some way out metal rock band.
And then the next day he'll say, 'Check out this hip-hop artist.'
And the next day he'll come with something like Tatu, those two
Russian singers, you know, and he'll love that. He always has
really great tastes in music and he's always introducing me to
stuff, so I think we work really well together, for sure."
The album is produced by Jerry Finn, and fans can finally
check the band out on the Bamboozle Left festival on October 14
in California. A full itinerary has not been released at press
time.
Nei prossimi anni spero di fare un altro album con i
Transplants. Amo suonare con quei ragazzi

Gli Angels And Airwaves non hanno vinto ai
Kerrang Awards
Il premio come Best International Newcomer va agli Aiden che
battono oltre agli Angels And Airwaves anche i Panic! At The
Disco.
Best international newcomer was presented to theatrical
Seattle group Aiden, who beat among others high-profile new acts
Panic! At The Disco and Angels And Airwaves, the supergroup
formed by Blink 182 guitarist Tom DeLonge.
The follow-up to Splinter will be released
sometime in late 2006/early 2007. The Offspring is still looking
for a producer to record it.
This album will also be their first release with new drummer
Atom Willard, who replaced longtime drummer Ron Welty in
2003 before the release of their last album.
Willard is still busy touring with Tom DeLonge (of
Blink-182)'s Angels and Airwaves and promoting their latest
album We Don't Need to Whisper. However, Holland has released a
statement saying that Willard has not left the band.
Plus-44 Address Blink Breakup On LP, Want Fans To 'Hear
The Truth'
Album 'is about everything that's happened and the
ugly feelings left over afterwards,' says Mark Hoppus.
In the 18 months following the announcement of the Blink-182 hiatus,
Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker decided not to do any interviews. During
that time, their former bandmate, Tom DeLonge, did the opposite,
peppering blogs and magazines with quotes hyping his new band and
putting the blame for the Blink situation squarely on their shoulders.
While it sometimes pained them to do so, Hoppus and Barker still
refrained from speaking to the media, instead burying themselves in the
recording of the debut album by their new band, Plus-44.
Now, with Plus' album, When Your Heart Stops Beating, "99 percent
finished," the guys are embarking on a press blitz of their own.
"We just bit our tongues and didn't say anything, and now that the
record is done, we get the chance to tell the truth about everything,"
Hoppus said. "We want to say, 'Here's the truth about Blink, here's the
truth about Plus-44.' We're not talking sh-- — we just want our fans to
know the truth about everything."
"We were silent for a year, and we couldn't put into words what we were
doing, so we just decided not to say anything and let the music speak
for itself," Barker added. "Now it's time for people to hear that music
and hear the truth."
That truth — about the past 18 months of their lives — percolates
throughout Heart, a point made by Hoppus during Plus' first-ever
interview last month, and one that both he and Barker expounded on in
their second chat with MTV News.
"The whole album is about everything that's happened, including Blink,
and the ugly feelings that were left over afterwards," Hoppus said. "Lyrically,
it's some of the most positive stuff I've ever written, but it's also
some of the darkest sh--, too. And I'm incredibly proud of it all."
"Ever since the whole Blink thing went down, we were left on our own, we
were the underdogs," Barker added. "We had a year's worth of touring
planned, we were writing a record, and all of a sudden [Tom] just
dropped the ball. And while we were still on tour, he was having
discussions with us about, 'Oh, I can't wait until we're doing this 20
years from now.' So now, with Plus-44, my attitude is like, 'F--- you,
watch me do this 20 years from now.' "
Hoppus said there will be 11 songs on Heart — which is due
November 14, according to Plus' label, Interscope Records — including
the title track (which is shaping up to be the first single), "Little
Death," "Chapter 13" (a "straight-up spastic tune," according to Barker)
and "No It Isn't," a song that leaked earlier this year and created
quite a stir because it seemed to address the Blink situation head-on.
"Yeah, that one is absolutely about the end of Blink," Hoppus said. "We
leaked it online almost a year ago, in a demo version, and it's one of
the few songs that's only changed a little bit."
With the record nearly done, Plus-44 are now gearing up to hit the road,
lining up dates for a North American tour scheduled to kick off in late
October. And while Barker has been dealing with some personal stuff —
chiefly the divorce petition he filed against his wife (and former "Meet
the Barkers" co-star) Shanna Moakler earlier this month — he maintains
that he's eagerly looking forward to the time on the road.
"Anytime I'm struggling or in a place where I have to keep my head above
water, it always makes me get even deeper into my music," he said. "So
yeah, I'm really looking forward to getting out there and playing. In a
way it's weird, because this band has been about making the best out of
a f---ed-up situation, and now this tour is, too. I feel like every few
years something goes down with me where I have to prove myself again.
And that's what this is, but it only makes me stronger."

Travis Barker isn't keeping quiet about the reasons he's divorcing his wife and
Meet the Barkers costar Shanna Moakler.
On Aug. 14 – a week after he filed for divorce – Barker, 30, posted a scathing
message on his MySpace.com page accusing Moakler, 31, of partying hard, not
spending enough time with their kids (Landon, 2, and Alabama, 7 months) and
sleeping too much.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Barker explains, "I was hearing things in
the press that Shanna was saying about me and it got to the point where it got
so foul and so false that I wanted my fans to hear from me directly."
Moakler fired back to PEOPLE, "(His) airing of our dirty laundry in the media is
not conducive to the well-being of my children, and I want no part of it."
On Tuesday, Barker talked to PEOPLE about what went wrong in his marriage, a
certain egg-throwing problem and the MTV curse.
PEOPLE: How are you doing? Are you angry or sad?
BARKER: I'm not in the angry phase at all because I'm still absolutely in love
with Shan. It feels weird to not wake up to my children every day, to be honest.
But I sneak over every morning to see the babies.
PEOPLE: Do they understand what's going on?
BARKER: Well, 'Bam is seven months old. She just pisses herself when she sees me
because she's so excited because she was used to seeing me so much during the
day. And my son just thinks I'm working like crazy right now.
PEOPLE: When did things start going downhill with you and Shanna?
BARKER: About a year ago. I don't know if it was me touring and me constantly
getting accused of things. She was unfortunately in a relationship before where
someone was unfaithful to her and she told me when we first met that it scared
her. I understood that going into it, but I didn't know it would be to the
extreme that it was. To the point where I couldn't have friends that were girls
and I couldn't hang out with my guy friends. They would get egged if they came
to my house.
PEOPLE: Wait, is that a metaphor?
BARKER: There were times where I'd be accused of whatever. She'd say I was a bad
father, just saying she hated me or whatever. Then I would leave the house
because I couldn't take it. My manager would pick me up and he would get served
with a dozen eggs. This would happen on the daily. This would happen on the
weekly.
(Through her rep, Moakler responds: "I did egg his manager's car on one
occasion and at the time it was well deserved and well worth it.")
PEOPLE: You said you tried therapy. Did it help?
BARKER: I think therapy is super effective if both people are willing to be
honest and if they are willing to listen and to really deal with the problem.
Nobody's right or wrong in what happened between Shanna and I. I grew up
different than her.
PEOPLE: What were those differences?
BARKER: I came from a broken home. Through the process of my parents getting a
divorce, my mom died (of cancer). And, that being said, I want everything I
didn't have growing up. It would be crazy for me not to. I wanted much more for
my children. I wanted a mom (for my kids) that would wake up before 3 in the
afternoon. I wanted a mom who wouldn't stumble in at 4 in the morning after me
not knowing where she is.
PEOPLE: You felt you and Shanna were focused on different things?
BARKER: Yeah. I think the priority should be the kids. My No. 1 priority is my
children – more than the studio, more than my clothing line, more than my
skateboard room or my Cadillac, anything. We didn't have that same feeling. She
didn't prioritize our life and our family in the same way I do.
PEOPLE: Some examples?
BARKER: If I had to go out at midnight to work, like if I had a show with DJ AM,
my wife then goes, "He's out having fun." She'll get mad that I'm working at a
place where she'd just like to go out and get drunk. And she'll go, "Well, you
were out." No, I was working. I was performing.
PEOPLE: What will you do differently next time?
BARKER: I like falling in love. I'll follow my heart. I don't have any plans
right now. I'd love to hang out with a girl and have a friend for company. But I
can't even think about that right now.
PEOPLE: Do you plan to keep your "Shanna" tattoos?
BARKER: It's part of my life and I love her. It's not like I've written her off
or anything. If anything, it's a time in your life. You are documenting the time
in your life.
PEOPLE: Did she give her 4-carat Cartier engagement ring back?
BARKER: She can wear it on her right finger.
PEOPLE: You're not asking for it back?
BARKER: No.
PEOPLE: Do you think there's an MTV curse? You and Shanna, Dave Navarro and
Carmen Electra, Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson have all split after having
reality shows about your marriages.
BARKER: I do. I think putting your relationship out there for people to
interpret and have their own opinion about, I think it's crazy. Ours was
different 'cause it showed a young couple who could still get down and reach for
their goals and dreams. But I still feel like it puts a lot of stress on the
relationship.
TODAY IS A NEW DAY, MY HOTEL IS STILL HERE, THE SUNS OUT, MY

Italia.
Travis e Shanna - che apparivano innamoratissimi nello show -
Eccetto, naturalmente i veterani Osbourne e Britney Spears
e Kevin Federline, anche se in quest'ultimo caso i
pettegolezzi su presunte rotture non mancano mai.
Buon compleanno a Ava DeLonge!!! Oggi compie 4 anni!!!

because by next week's podcast. four your listening pleasure, michael will have
recorded a hot 16-bar verse of such amazing lyrical content that it will surely
make something something. i just got too lazy to make a joke there, but let's
just pretend it was funny and we'll all feel better about ourselves.
